Building Community

"I chose Glennon Heights Mennonite Church because of the wonderfully diverse community, a deep connection to God and a joyful use of music in worship. Glennon Heights has been a wonderful family and a place I can grow in my faith."

Backpacks for Second Chance Center

Second Chance Center is a Colorado-based non-profit that provides support to formerly incarcerated individuals, assisting them in reestablishing their lives and becoming successful members of their communities.  Second Chance Center offers a myriad of resources such as employment services, case management, mentoring, fitness training, art therapy, and more.

Glennon Heights Mennonite Church is proud to partner with Second Chance Center, largely through our annual backpack drive.  Each summer, Glennon Heights members purchase backpacks and fill them with necessary hygiene supplies for individuals who have recently been released from prison. In 2023, our members put together and delivered 190 backpacks.

The Action Center

The Action Center provides an immediate and compassionate response to those in our community experiencing hardship and offers the resources and services needed to stabilize lives and promotes pathways to lasting change.  This is accomplished in many ways, but always with a focus on maintaining the dignity of the people they serve.  A great example of this is their “food pantry.”  Families needing food from the Action Center experience something very similar to a visit to a grocery store; they are able to peruse a selection of high quality, fresh foods and choose what they want to eat.  In addition to the food pantry, the Action Center also provides case management, emergency financial assistance, counseling, and more.

Glennon Heights Mennonite Church has partnered with The Action Center for many years, both through annual financial support as well as through collecting donations on an on-going basis.  In recent years, we’ve also held a Lenten Food Drive, which has been a fun way to highlight the work that the Action Center is doing within our community.

Church Community

Small Groups

Glennon Heights has a number of small groups which meet regularly. The groups gather to have fun, cultivate relationships with others, and deepen our faith.

Potlucks

Sharing meals together is a central part of our faith and community. Around the table, we share our lives with one another and learn more about those we worship with. We also get to enjoy wonderful food made by some of the best around.

Retreats

Our annual Church Retreat at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp offers a time to get away from the busyness of life while enjoying a weekend in God's glorious creation. Weekend activities include worship, singing (no need to be good), hiking, playing games, relaxing and lots of laughter all around.

Mennonite Women

Glennon Heights Mennonite Women meet various times through the year to share life with one another and make quilts and fleeces for the Mennonite Relief sale. Women from other churches are also welcome to join in this time of fellowship.

Mental Health Support Group

Glennon Heights offers the opportunity for people living with mental health issues to share with and support each other in a safe and healing environment.
